Polite reminders:

The Food Bank operates out of the Branston All Saints Church Vestry and is accessible via the gate on Church Lane. The opening hours are: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 1000 - 1100hrs. Donations can also be left in the rear porch at Nocton All Saints Church at any time.

Requests received during opening hours via 07395 906220 or branstoncommunity@gmail.com will be delivered the same day. Emergency requests from residents or local authorities will be triaged and processed on a priority basis.

Food Parcels and Fresh Food

The Food Bank does NOT handle or distribute any fresh food in its food parcels. It does not have the required storage facilities such as refrigerators for perishable items. However, all food parcels are complemented by Lincolnshire Co-op Food Vouchers to enable residents to choose their own fresh food from local Co-op stores. These vouchers cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, vapes or any form of scratch or lottery cards.

Tiles still available

We have a quantity of old terracotta roof tiles no longer needed for Nocton Parish Church.

One or two people have asked whether they could have some the tiles over recent years, but we’ve always said that we needed to keep them for the south porch roof.

The south porch roof has now been repaired, and there are still quite a lot of tiles left over.  So we’d like to offer them people in the village – for a suitable donation - before we offer them more widely.

The tiles are roughly 27cm long and 16.5cm wide. The majority are square ended, but some have rounded ends.

Plant sale a success!

On behalf of the Church Fund Raising Committee, thank you to everyone who helped with and attended our plant sale at Nocton Church yesterday. We made the impressive sum of £760 for church repairs. 

 

Please note all the remaining plants are still for sale outside the church (with an honesty box) so if you missed yesterday, there is still an opportunity to buy this week.

It's back... the church spring clean day! With the now famous sausage rolls for those taking part! Please help keep our beautiful church looking its best.

Christmas wreaths

The end of the Christmas and Epiphany season is on Candlemas, 2 February. We take down the church Christmas decorations after that and Christmas wreaths are removed from the churchyard as these are looking very tired by then. If you are able to remove Christmas wreaths from graves, it would really help us if you could do that, but if not we are happy to remove them for you. Thank you.
