The bells, the bells...

All Saints has a fine peal of six bells.  Much information, including the summary below, can be found at http://bellringing.weebly.com/nocton.html

The bells were cast at the same bell foundry in London where Big Ben and the Liberty Bell were made.

The bell inscriptions are instantly familiar to all who have heard the chorus 'Worthy is the Lamb' from Handel's 'Messiah' (adapted in turn from Revelation 7:12):

"Blessing"

"Honour"
"Glory"
"Power"
"Be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne"
"And unto the Lamb forever"

The bells are rung regularly three times a month, for Sunday services and practice night, and for other festivals such as Christmas, for weddings and for other celebration events. There are frequent visits from visiting bands of ringers.
